Introduction

Securing sustainable financial and non-financial resources has become increasingly critical for organizations working in development, humanitarian, academic, and nonprofit sectors. The Resource Mobilization, Fundraising and Proposal Writing Course is designed to strengthen the capacity of participants to attract, manage, and sustain resources through strategic approaches, effective fundraising practices, and high-quality proposal development. This course offers a comprehensive blend of theory, practical tools, and case-based learning tailored to the evolving funding landscape.

Participants will explore a wide range of strategies for resource mobilization, including donor mapping, strategic planning, local fundraising, private sector engagement, and use of digital platforms. The course will emphasize how to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals, strengthen institutional readiness, and build long-term donor relationships. Participants will also learn how to diversify income streams and develop innovative approaches to accessing both financial and in-kind support.

A key component of the course is hands-on training in proposal writing. Participants will gain skills in developing compelling concept notes and full proposals tailored to different types of donors, including foundations, governments, and international agencies. The training will cover all stages of proposal development — from problem analysis and objective setting to logical frameworks, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation planning. Emphasis is placed on writing clearly, persuasively, and strategically to meet donor requirements and increase funding success rates.

This course is ideal for development practitioners, program managers, grant writers, fundraisers, and other professionals involved in resource mobilization and project development. Whether participants are new to these topics or seeking to enhance existing skills, they will leave the course with practical tools, real-world insights, and action plans that can be applied immediately to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of their organization’s resource mobilization efforts.
