Introduction

The Project Development and Proposal Writing Course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to develop high-quality, fundable project proposals. In an increasingly competitive environment for securing donor funding, organizations must craft well-structured, compelling, and results-oriented proposals that align with donor priorities and demonstrate measurable impact. This course offers a step-by-step approach to project development—from identifying problems and designing interventions to preparing winning proposals tailored to specific donor requirements.

Participants will gain a deep understanding of the project planning process, including needs assessment, stakeholder analysis, objective setting, and the development of logical frameworks. The course emphasizes the importance of evidence-based planning and the use of tools such as Theory of Change, Results Frameworks, and Logical Framework Matrices to design coherent and achievable project strategies. Practical exercises, group work, and case studies will enhance learning and ensure participants can immediately apply their new skills in real-world contexts.

In addition to project design, the course covers all critical components of proposal writing, including writing clear problem statements, defining outcomes, structuring activities, budgeting, and developing monitoring and evaluation plans. Participants will also learn how to match proposals to the strategic priorities of different donors, including governments, multilateral agencies, foundations, and NGOs.

Whether you are new to project development or seeking to refine your proposal writing skills, this course will empower you to create persuasive, results-driven proposals that stand out. It is ideal for project managers, development professionals, grant writers, program officers, and anyone involved in resource mobilization or project design.
