Introduction

The Data Management and Statistical Data Analysis using STATA course is designed to equip participants with the practical skills needed to handle, clean, analyze, and interpret data using STATA one of the most powerful and widely used statistical software packages for applied research and policy analysis.

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to STATA’s features and commands, guiding participants through data entry, variable transformation, file manipulation, and dataset management. Learners will gain hands-on experience working with real datasets, mastering essential techniques for organizing and preparing data for statistical analysis in a reproducible and transparent manner.

Participants will then be introduced to a range of statistical tools, from basic descriptive statistics and data visualization to more advanced inferential techniques, including hypothesis testing, correlation, regression analysis, and non-parametric tests. Special emphasis is placed on the interpretation of outputs and effective communication of results in academic, policy, and professional contexts.

Whether you are a researcher, analyst, or development practitioner, this course will strengthen your capacity to use STATA confidently for data-driven decision-making and evidence-based reporting. No prior experience with STATA is required, although a basic understanding of statistics is recommended to fully benefit from the course.
