Course Introduction

Youth represent the most dynamic force for innovation, growth, and social transformation. However, they often face barriers such as unemployment, underemployment, and limited access to entrepreneurship opportunities. These challenges hinder not only individual potential but also the broader social and economic progress of societies. Addressing these barriers is critical for achieving inclusive and sustainable development.

This course explores the central role of youth in social development, with a particular focus on employment creation, skills development, and entrepreneurship promotion. It equips participants with the knowledge and tools to design, implement, and evaluate strategies that foster youth empowerment while tackling systemic challenges in labor markets.

The program emphasizes innovative approaches that connect youth with emerging industries, green jobs, and digital economies. It highlights how entrepreneurship ecosystems can be strengthened to ensure young people access finance, mentorship, and supportive policies for thriving in competitive environments.

In addition, the course addresses the broader social dimensions of youth employment, including equity, inclusion, and resilience. It recognizes the importance of ensuring that marginalized youth including women, rural populations, and displaced communities benefit from tailored interventions that expand opportunities and promote social cohesion.

Participants will engage with global case studies and comparative experiences from countries that have successfully integrated youth employment and entrepreneurship into their social development agendas. The course fosters peer learning and networking, enabling professionals to share lessons and co-create innovative solutions.

By the end of the course, participants will not only understand the challenges facing youth but also be equipped with actionable strategies to create meaningful employment opportunities, strengthen entrepreneurship, and drive inclusive social development.
