Course Introduction
Youth agripreneurship and rural employment strategies are critical drivers of economic transformation, job creation, and sustainable rural development. This course is designed to equip young people with practical skills, entrepreneurial mindsets, and business development competencies tailored to agricultural and rural economies.
Across many regions, rural youth face high unemployment rates despite the vast opportunities within agriculture and allied sectors. This training addresses these gaps by positioning agriculture as a viable, profitable, and innovative career pathway for youth-led enterprises.
Participants will explore modern agribusiness models, value chain opportunities, and digital innovations that are reshaping agriculture. The course emphasizes practical approaches to starting and scaling youth-led agripreneurial ventures in diverse agricultural subsectors.
The training also highlights rural employment strategies, including value addition, agri-services, mechanization, logistics, and digital agriculture platforms. It demonstrates how youth can engage across entire agricultural value chains beyond traditional farming.
A strong focus is placed on access to finance, business planning, incubation support, and policy environments that enable youth entrepreneurship. Participants will gain insights into overcoming structural barriers that limit youth participation in agribusiness.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to design, implement, and manage agripreneurial ventures and rural employment initiatives that contribute to inclusive economic growth and sustainable livelihoods.
