Course Introduction

Women’s Participation in Governance and Institutional Accountability Course is designed to strengthen the leadership capacity of women in shaping transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance systems. The course focuses on enhancing women’s meaningful participation in decision-making structures at all levels of governance.

The training explores how governance systems can be transformed to ensure accountability, responsiveness, and equity. Participants will examine institutional barriers that limit women’s participation and identify practical strategies to overcome them in public and private sector institutions.

A key focus of the course is on strengthening women’s leadership roles in accountability mechanisms, including oversight institutions, public financial management systems, and civic engagement platforms. Participants will learn how to influence governance reforms effectively.

The program also highlights the importance of ethical leadership, transparency, and anti-corruption practices in strengthening institutional accountability systems. Women leaders will be equipped with tools to advocate for integrity-driven governance structures.

Participants will engage with case studies and global best practices demonstrating how women’s participation improves governance outcomes, enhances service delivery, and strengthens institutional trust in society.

Ultimately, the course empowers women to become effective governance actors, accountability champions, and reform leaders capable of transforming institutions toward greater transparency and inclusion.
