Course Introduction

Women’s Leadership in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Development is a forward-looking course designed to strengthen women’s roles as decision-makers, innovators, and entrepreneurs within the global tourism and hospitality industry. It focuses on leadership, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth in a rapidly evolving sector.

The program explores how tourism and hospitality can be powerful drivers of women’s economic empowerment when barriers such as limited access to capital, leadership gaps, and unequal opportunities are addressed. Participants will examine structural inequalities and develop strategies to promote gender-balanced leadership.

A key focus is placed on sustainable tourism practices that protect the environment, respect local cultures, and ensure long-term economic viability. The course highlights how women leaders can influence sustainability agendas in hotels, resorts, travel companies, and community tourism initiatives.

Participants will also engage with business development strategies, including tourism entrepreneurship, destination management, and hospitality innovation. The training emphasizes how women can build and scale enterprises within local and global tourism value chains.

The course integrates leadership development, negotiation skills, and strategic management techniques tailored for women in tourism and hospitality. Real-world case studies illustrate successful women-led tourism enterprises and destination leadership models across different regions.
