Course Introduction

Women’s leadership in environmental policy and climate diplomacy is increasingly recognized as essential for achieving inclusive and effective global climate action. This course equips participants with advanced skills to influence policy, negotiations, and environmental governance processes at national and international levels.

Climate change and environmental degradation disproportionately affect women and marginalized communities, yet their representation in policy and diplomacy remains limited. This course explores how gender-responsive leadership can transform environmental decision-making and climate governance systems.

Participants will gain deep insights into environmental policy frameworks, international climate agreements, and diplomatic processes, with a focus on how women leaders can shape sustainable and equitable outcomes in these arenas.

The program emphasizes strategic leadership, negotiation skills, and advocacy techniques needed to engage effectively in climate diplomacy and multilateral environmental negotiations at global platforms.

Through case studies of women leaders in climate action, environmental governance, and international diplomacy, learners will understand real-world strategies that have influenced policy change and environmental justice outcomes.

By the end of the course, participants will be empowered to lead and participate effectively in environmental policy development and climate diplomacy initiatives with confidence, equity, and strategic influence.
