Course Introduction

Women's Empowerment through Community Savings and Investment Models Course is designed to strengthen the capacity of women, community leaders, and development practitioners to build sustainable financial inclusion systems. It focuses on savings groups, cooperative finance, and community-driven investment mechanisms that enhance women’s economic power.

The course explores how community-based savings models such as VSLA, ROSCA, SACCOs, and cooperative societies can be leveraged to improve financial resilience. Participants will understand how these systems support entrepreneurship, income generation, and household stability.

A key focus is placed on gender-responsive financial inclusion strategies that remove barriers limiting women’s access to capital, credit, and investment opportunities. The course emphasizes equitable participation in community financial decision-making structures.

Participants will gain insights into designing, managing, and scaling inclusive savings and investment programs that promote collective economic growth. This includes governance structures, accountability systems, and financial literacy integration.

The training also examines real-world case studies of successful women-led savings groups and investment initiatives across rural and urban contexts. These examples provide practical lessons for replication and adaptation.

Ultimately, the course empowers participants to strengthen women’s economic agency by building inclusive, transparent, and sustainable community financial systems that drive long-term development impact.
