Course Introduction

Water Safety Planning and Environmental Health Risk Management Training is designed to strengthen institutional capacity in protecting public health through systematic identification, assessment, and control of risks within drinking water supply and environmental systems.
The course provides a comprehensive understanding of Water Safety Plans (WSPs), environmental health risk assessment frameworks, hazard identification, and preventive risk management strategies aligned with global WHO guidelines.
Participants will gain practical skills in developing, implementing, and monitoring water safety plans, including risk mapping, hazard control, and corrective action planning for safe water supply systems.
A strong emphasis is placed on environmental health protection, microbial and chemical risk management, outbreak prevention, and integrated water quality surveillance systems for communities and institutions.
The program integrates modern tools such as risk modeling, water quality monitoring systems, GIS mapping, and incident management frameworks to strengthen proactive water safety governance.
Ultimately, the course prepares professionals to ensure safe, reliable, and resilient water systems that protect public health and reduce environmental and waterborne disease risks.

Duration

5 days
