Course Introduction

Water Quality Management for Humanitarian and Emergency Programs Course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to ensure safe water access during emergencies, disasters, and humanitarian crises. The course focuses on rapid response water quality assessment and management strategies.

In humanitarian settings, access to clean and safe water is critical for preventing disease outbreaks and ensuring survival. This program explores how water quality deteriorates during emergencies such as floods, conflicts, and displacement situations, and how to respond effectively.

A key focus of the course is emergency water quality monitoring and treatment approaches that can be rapidly deployed in crisis environments. Participants will learn methods for assessing contamination risks and implementing immediate water safety interventions.

The training also addresses international humanitarian standards, including Sphere standards and WHO guidelines for emergency water supply. Emphasis is placed on compliance, safety, and rapid decision-making under resource-constrained conditions.

Participants will gain practical knowledge in field water testing, emergency purification systems, and mobile water treatment technologies. The course integrates technical water management with humanitarian response planning and coordination.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to design and implement effective water quality management strategies in emergency and humanitarian contexts, ensuring safe and reliable water supply for affected populations.

Duration
5 Days
