Course Introduction
The Training of Trainers (ToT) for NGO Programme Capacity Building Training Course is designed to strengthen the instructional, facilitation, and knowledge transfer skills of NGO professionals who are responsible for building the capacity of teams, partners, and community stakeholders. The course provides practical methodologies for designing and delivering high-impact training sessions that improve programme effectiveness and organizational performance.
In the NGO and humanitarian sector, effective capacity building is essential for ensuring sustainability, accountability, and quality service delivery. Trainers play a critical role in transferring knowledge, shaping competencies, and strengthening institutional systems. This course equips participants with modern adult learning principles, participatory training techniques, and facilitation skills that enhance learning outcomes in diverse contexts.
The programme focuses on developing core competencies in instructional design, training needs assessment, curriculum development, and learning evaluation. Participants will learn how to design structured training programmes that are responsive to organizational needs and aligned with programme objectives. Emphasis is placed on practical delivery methods that promote engagement, retention, and behavior change.
Special attention is given to participatory learning approaches, experiential training methods, and competency-based training design. Participants will gain skills in using interactive tools, group dynamics, simulation exercises, and case-based learning to ensure effective knowledge transfer. The course also explores how to adapt training content for different audiences, including field staff, community workers, and partner organizations.
The course further addresses modern trends in capacity building such as digital learning platforms, blended training models, e-learning tools, and virtual facilitation techniques. Participants will explore how technology is transforming training delivery and enabling scalable capacity development across geographically dispersed teams and partners.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to design, deliver, and evaluate professional training programmes, strengthen organizational learning systems, and build sustainable capacity development frameworks for NGOs and partner institutions.
