Course Introduction

Sustainable supply chain finance is rapidly becoming a key mechanism for aligning global trade, production systems, and climate goals. This course provides an in-depth exploration of how financial systems can decarbonize supply chains while leveraging carbon markets to incentivize sustainability across industries.

Participants will examine how carbon accounting, emissions tracking, and sustainability-linked financing are integrated into supply chain operations. The course highlights how financial institutions and corporates collaborate to reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across global value chains.

A strong focus is placed on the role of carbon markets in enabling supply chain transformation, including carbon credit generation, trading mechanisms, and offset strategies. Learners will understand how companies monetize emissions reductions while improving sustainability performance.

The program explores supply chain finance instruments such as green factoring, sustainability-linked loans, and ESG performance-based financing structures. Participants will learn how financial incentives drive supplier compliance with environmental standards.

Special attention is given to digital technologies including blockchain, IoT, and AI for supply chain transparency and carbon tracking. Case studies demonstrate how leading corporations are building climate-resilient and low-carbon supply networks.

By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to design and manage sustainable supply chain finance systems that integrate carbon markets, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact across global trade networks.
