Introduction
The Sustainable Supply Chain and Logistics Course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to develop environmentally responsible, socially inclusive, and economically viable supply chain and logistics systems. As global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and stakeholder demands for transparency grow, organizations are under increasing pressure to rethink traditional supply chain practices and adopt more sustainable, circular, and resilient approaches.
This course explores the critical role that sustainable supply chains play in achieving long-term business success and global sustainability goals. Participants will learn how to design and manage supply chains that minimize environmental impact, reduce waste, optimize resource use, and promote ethical labor and sourcing practices. It provides a practical understanding of green logistics, sustainable procurement, carbon footprint measurement, reverse logistics, and life cycle thinking within the supply chain context.
Through case studies, interactive exercises, and real-world examples, the course examines how leading organizations are embedding sustainability across supply chain functions from product design and sourcing to manufacturing, distribution, and end-of-life recovery. Participants will also explore the application of digital tools, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, and circular economy principles in building smarter, more agile, and sustainable logistics systems.
In addition to environmental considerations, the course emphasizes the social and economic dimensions of supply chain sustainability, including fair trade practices, supplier diversity, community impact, and inclusive growth. Participants will understand how to align supply chain strategies with corporate sustainability goals, customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and international sustainability frameworks such as the SDGs.
By the end of the course, participants will be empowered to lead and support sustainability initiatives within their supply chains, assess sustainability performance, and implement practical improvements. This training is ideal for supply chain managers, procurement officers, sustainability professionals, logistics coordinators, and anyone involved in designing or managing supply chains with a view toward long-term value creation and environmental stewardship.
