Course Introduction

Donor-funded programs operate in highly complex environments where accountability, transparency, and compliance are non-negotiable. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how supply chain governance structures can be designed and implemented to ensure efficient, ethical, and results-driven management of donor resources across development and humanitarian programs.
In many donor-funded environments, supply chain systems are fragmented, heavily regulated, and subject to strict audit requirements. These conditions often create operational bottlenecks, delays, and inefficiencies. This course examines these challenges and equips participants with governance frameworks that improve coordination, strengthen oversight, and enhance supply chain performance while maintaining donor compliance standards.
A key focus of the program is strengthening accountability systems across procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution processes. Participants will learn how to design governance mechanisms that ensure traceability of funds and materials, reduce fraud risks, and improve reporting accuracy. Emphasis is placed on aligning operational execution with donor expectations and contractual obligations.
The course also explores compliance management in donor-funded supply chains, including financial controls, procurement regulations, audit readiness, and reporting structures. Participants will understand how to navigate multi-donor environments where different compliance requirements must be harmonized into a single, coherent governance system.
Another critical area covered is performance monitoring and evaluation. Participants will learn how to design KPI frameworks that track efficiency, effectiveness, and impact across supply chain operations. These tools help organizations demonstrate value for money, improve decision-making, and strengthen donor confidence and long-term funding relationships.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to establish strong governance frameworks that improve accountability, enhance compliance, and optimize supply chain performance in donor-funded programs. They will be equipped to lead transparent, efficient, and results-oriented supply chain operations in complex development and humanitarian contexts.
