Course Introduction

The Theory of Change (ToC) has become a foundational approach in designing effective social development projects by clearly linking interventions to desired long-term outcomes. This course provides a comprehensive framework for applying Theory of Change in planning, implementing, and evaluating development programs.

The program explores how social development challenges can be systematically analyzed and translated into structured pathways of change. Participants will learn how to identify assumptions, define outcomes, and map intervention strategies that lead to measurable impact.

A strong emphasis is placed on evidence-based project design, ensuring that development initiatives are grounded in realistic assumptions and contextual understanding. Participants will learn how to build logical frameworks that strengthen project coherence and effectiveness.

The course also focuses on stakeholder engagement in Theory of Change development, ensuring that communities, governments, and development partners contribute to shaping program logic and expected results. This enhances ownership and sustainability.

Participants will explore how Theory of Change integrates with monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to track progress and improve program performance. Adaptive learning is a key component of modern development practice.
