Course Introduction

Effective governance and strong institutional accountability are essential foundations for delivering high-quality, equitable, and impactful social development programmes. This course explores how governance systems shape programme outcomes, influence resource use, and determine the extent to which institutions are transparent, responsive, and accountable to the populations they serve.

Many social development programmes struggle with challenges such as weak oversight structures, corruption risks, poor coordination, and limited transparency. This course provides participants with advanced analytical and practical tools to strengthen governance frameworks and institutional accountability mechanisms across diverse social development contexts.
