Course Introduction

School Performance Data Analytics Training Course provides education professionals with practical knowledge and analytical techniques for transforming school-level data into meaningful evidence for improving teaching, learning, management, and institutional performance. The course focuses on using reliable data to understand academic outcomes, attendance, retention, progression, learner engagement, teacher performance, resource utilization, and other indicators that influence school effectiveness.

The programme introduces participants to the complete school performance analytics cycle, from data collection and validation through analysis, visualization, interpretation, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making. Participants examine how administrative records, assessment results, attendance registers, learner information systems, teacher records, financial data, and school improvement information can be integrated to develop a comprehensive understanding of institutional performance.

A major emphasis is placed on identifying patterns, trends, disparities, and performance gaps across learners, grades, subjects, classrooms, schools, and demographic groups. Participants learn how descriptive and comparative analytics can reveal changes in learner achievement, absenteeism, dropout, transition, completion, and other outcomes, while helping education leaders distinguish between isolated observations and persistent performance issues requiring strategic intervention.

The course also develops practical skills in data visualization and dashboard development for school leadership and education management. Participants explore how tables, charts, scorecards, performance indicators, trend analyses, and interactive dashboards can communicate complex education data clearly to teachers, administrators, governing bodies, policymakers, and other stakeholders, supporting timely monitoring and informed management decisions.

School performance analytics increasingly requires attention to data quality, privacy, responsible data use, equity, and emerging digital technologies. The course therefore addresses practical approaches for improving data governance, protecting learner information, managing data access, identifying bias, and using automated and AI-supported analytical tools responsibly. Participants also consider how emerging technologies can strengthen early-warning systems and school improvement planning.

By the end of the programme, participants will be better equipped to establish practical school performance analytics processes, develop meaningful indicators, interpret performance evidence, and translate findings into targeted improvement actions. The course is designed to connect technical data skills with real-world education management needs, enabling participants to build stronger monitoring systems and support continuous improvement through credible, actionable evidence.
