Course Introduction

Safeguarding and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) are fundamental principles in humanitarian and development work, ensuring that all beneficiaries, especially the most vulnerable, are protected from harm, abuse, and exploitation.

NGOs and humanitarian organizations have a duty of care to prevent misconduct and create safe environments for communities they serve. Safeguarding and PSEA frameworks ensure accountability, ethical conduct, and trust in program delivery.

In many humanitarian contexts, power imbalances between aid workers and beneficiaries can create risks of exploitation and abuse. Strong safeguarding systems help prevent abuse of power and ensure dignified treatment of all individuals.

PSEA mechanisms are essential in maintaining organizational integrity and donor confidence. They ensure that complaints are properly reported, investigated, and addressed through safe and confidential systems.

Effective safeguarding requires strong policies, trained personnel, community awareness, and functional reporting mechanisms. It is a shared responsibility across all levels of an organization.

Training Approach

The training will be held at our Upskill Training Centre. We also offer training for a group (at a discount of 10% to 50%) at requested location all over the world.
