Course Introduction

Risk-based regulation enables government institutions to focus limited regulatory resources on the activities, entities, products, services, and behaviours that present the greatest potential for harm. Rather than applying identical levels of oversight to every regulated entity, risk-based approaches use evidence, intelligence, compliance history, sector characteristics, and potential consequences to determine where regulatory attention is most needed.

Risk-Based Regulation and Inspection Management Training Course equips regulators, government managers, inspectors, compliance professionals, and policy practitioners with practical methods for designing and managing risk-based regulatory and inspection systems. Participants will learn how to identify regulatory risks, assess likelihood and consequences, develop risk profiles, prioritize inspection resources, and establish proportionate supervision strategies that improve compliance and public protection.

The programme examines the complete inspection management cycle, from regulatory risk identification and inspection planning to fieldwork, evidence collection, reporting, corrective action, enforcement, follow-up, and performance evaluation.
