Introduction

The global transition toward renewable energy calls for strong policy frameworks, institutional coordination, and effective governance mechanisms to ensure equitable and sustainable energy access. This course provides an in-depth understanding of how policy, regulation, and governance drive renewable energy deployment and investment across national and regional contexts.

Participants will explore the foundational concepts of renewable energy policy formulation, institutional design, and regulatory frameworks that underpin clean energy transitions. The training emphasizes the interrelationship between government, private sector, and civil society actors in shaping energy transformation agendas.

Through global and regional case studies, participants will analyze best practices, challenges, and policy innovations that have successfully accelerated renewable energy development. The course also examines financing mechanisms, incentive structures, and international agreements influencing renewable energy expansion.

Special attention is given to governance models that ensure transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in energy decision-making. Topics include stakeholder engagement, environmental and social safeguards, and gender-responsive energy policies that promote equitable access and sustainability.

In an era of technological disruption, participants will gain insights into emerging trends such as decentralized energy governance, carbon markets, and the integration of digital technologies in regulatory oversight. These perspectives equip professionals to navigate and influence evolving energy policy environments effectively.

By the end of this course, participants will have the strategic knowledge and analytical skills to design, implement, and evaluate renewable energy policies and governance systems that foster sustainable development and energy resilience.
