Course Introduction
Regenerative agriculture represents a transformative approach to farming that goes beyond sustainability by actively restoring soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem function. This course introduces participants to principles and practices that rebuild natural systems while maintaining productive agricultural landscapes.
Conventional agricultural practices have often contributed to soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem imbalance. This training provides a pathway toward restoring degraded lands through regenerative methods that enhance soil fertility, water retention, and ecological resilience.
Participants will explore key regenerative practices including cover cropping, agroforestry, rotational grazing, composting, and conservation agriculture techniques designed to rebuild soil organic matter and improve ecosystem services.
The course also examines ecosystem restoration approaches that integrate agriculture, forestry, and landscape management to reverse environmental degradation while supporting rural livelihoods and food security systems.
Special emphasis is placed on climate change mitigation and adaptation, highlighting how regenerative systems sequester carbon, improve water cycles, and strengthen resilience to environmental shocks and stresses.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to design and implement regenerative agriculture and ecosystem restoration programs that enhance productivity while restoring ecological balance.
