Course Introduction
Refugee, IDP and Migration Programme Management Training Course is designed to equip humanitarian and development professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programmes supporting refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and vulnerable migrant populations. In an era of increasing forced displacement driven by conflict, climate change, and economic instability, effective programme management is essential for ensuring protection, dignity, and sustainable support.
Forced displacement contexts are complex, dynamic, and often characterized by legal, political, and operational challenges. Refugees and IDPs face barriers related to access to services, protection risks, livelihood insecurity, and social exclusion. The course also explores global migration governance frameworks, including international refugee law, the Global Compact on Refugees, migration policies, and coordination mechanisms among humanitarian, development, and government actors. Special attention is given to protection risks, gender-based violence, child protection, psychosocial support, livelihood opportunities, and social cohesion in displacement settings.
