Introduction

Psychosocial Support and Mental Health Training Course equips professionals with practical knowledge and skills required to promote mental wellbeing, provide emotional support, and strengthen resilience among individuals and communities facing stress, trauma, crisis, or challenging life situations. The course emphasizes holistic approaches that integrate psychological, emotional, and social dimensions of wellbeing in diverse professional settings.

Mental health challenges are increasingly recognized as critical issues affecting productivity, social stability, workplace performance, and quality of life. This training provides participants with practical tools to understand mental health conditions, identify psychosocial needs, and design supportive interventions that promote recovery, resilience, and improved wellbeing outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Participants will gain practical understanding of psychosocial support principles, psychological first aid approaches, trauma-informed care frameworks, and ethical standards guiding mental health interventions. The training strengthens competencies required to respond appropriately to individuals experiencing distress while ensuring professional boundaries, confidentiality, and culturally sensitive service delivery approaches.

The course integrates emerging issues such as mental health in humanitarian settings, workplace mental wellbeing strategies, digital mental health interventions, community-based psychosocial support systems, and integration of mental health services into development programs. Participants explore multi-sector approaches linking health, education, social services, and protection systems.

Through practical case studies, role plays, and guided exercises, participants develop skills in active listening, empathy building, stress management support, counseling techniques, and referral coordination. The training emphasizes practical application of psychosocial support tools in workplace, community, and humanitarian contexts where mental health needs are increasing significantly.

By the end of the training, participants will demonstrate improved capacity to design psychosocial interventions, support individuals experiencing emotional distress, strengthen coping strategies, and contribute to improved mental health outcomes within organizations, communities, and social protection systems.
