Course Introduction

Proposal Writing, Grant Acquisition and Resource Mobilization Course is designed to equip professionals with practical skills and strategic knowledge required to secure funding, develop compelling proposals, and establish sustainable resource mobilization systems. In an increasingly competitive funding environment, organizations must demonstrate strong planning, accountability, and impact measurement capabilities to attract donor support. This course provides participants with proven methodologies for identifying funding opportunities and developing successful fundraising strategies.

The course explores the complete grant acquisition process, from donor research and opportunity identification to proposal development, submission, and post-award management. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of donor expectations, funding priorities, and proposal evaluation criteria used by international development agencies, foundations, governments, and corporate donors. Emphasis is placed on developing proposals that are persuasive, evidence-based, and aligned with donor requirements.

Resource mobilization extends beyond grant funding and requires organizations to diversify funding sources and strengthen stakeholder engagement. Participants will learn practical approaches for developing resource mobilization strategies, building donor relationships, cultivating partnerships, and leveraging organizational assets to support long-term sustainability. The course highlights innovative fundraising approaches suitable for NGOs, civil society organizations, and development institutions.

Special focus is given to proposal design using logical frameworks, theories of change, results-based management principles, and budget development techniques. Participants will acquire practical skills in problem analysis, project justification, objective formulation, indicator development, and risk assessment. These competencies help ensure that proposals clearly demonstrate relevance, feasibility, impact, and value for money.

The course also addresses emerging trends in fundraising and grant management, including digital fundraising platforms, crowdfunding strategies, social enterprise models, impact investing, and donor data analytics. Participants will explore innovative approaches to resource mobilization that respond to changing donor landscapes and evolving development priorities. The integration of technology and data-driven fundraising strategies is emphasized throughout the program.

By the end of the training, participants will possess the skills necessary to prepare competitive funding proposals, manage donor relationships, develop sustainable fundraising systems, and strengthen organizational financial sustainability. The course prepares professionals to secure resources effectively, expand development programs, and maximize organizational impact in increasingly resource-constrained environments.
