Course Introduction

Project Management with Microsoft Copilot Course provides project professionals with a practical and structured approach to using Microsoft Copilot capabilities to improve planning, coordination, analysis, communication, documentation, and decision support throughout the project lifecycle. The course focuses on applying Copilot as a project management productivity partner while maintaining strong human judgment, project governance, and quality control.

Microsoft Copilot can help project managers transform large volumes of project information into useful outputs by supporting tasks such as summarizing documents, drafting communications, analyzing information, preparing meeting materials, generating project updates, organizing requirements, and identifying important themes. Participants will learn how to provide effective context, instructions, source information, and constraints so that Copilot produces more relevant and actionable results.

The course examines how Copilot can support project initiation and planning activities, including project charter development, stakeholder analysis, requirements organization, work breakdown structure development, planning assumptions, project documentation, and communication planning. Participants will explore how to use Copilot to accelerate preparation while ensuring that generated content is reviewed against project objectives, organizational standards, contractual obligations, and stakeholder expectations.

Participants will also learn how Microsoft Copilot can support project execution, monitoring, and control. Practical applications include meeting preparation and summaries, action tracking, status reporting, risk and issue analysis, change communication, stakeholder updates, project documentation, and executive briefing preparation. Emphasis is placed on using Copilot to reduce administrative effort while preserving accountability for project decisions and deliverable quality.

Responsible and secure use of Microsoft Copilot is an essential component of the course. Participants will examine issues involving confidential project information, personal data, intellectual property, permissions, inaccurate outputs, hallucinations, bias, overreliance on AI-generated recommendations, and the need for human verification. The course also addresses how project managers can establish appropriate review processes and usage guidelines when incorporating Copilot into professional project workflows.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to apply Microsoft Copilot more effectively across project management activities, develop reusable prompts and workflows, improve project information processing, accelerate documentation and reporting, and strengthen team productivity. The course also introduces emerging capabilities such as AI-powered project assistants, multimodal Copilot experiences, conversational project intelligence, AI agents, and increasingly integrated intelligent project management environments.
