Course Introduction

Project Finance and Infrastructure Financing Course is designed to provide participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in structuring, evaluating, and managing large-scale infrastructure and development projects. The course focuses on financial modeling, risk allocation, and long-term investment structuring essential for sustainable infrastructure development.

The program introduces core principles of project finance including non-recourse and limited recourse financing structures. Participants will understand how infrastructure projects are financed through complex arrangements involving equity investors, lenders, governments, and multilateral institutions.

A strong emphasis is placed on financial modeling and project appraisal techniques. Participants will learn how to evaluate project feasibility using discounted cash flow analysis, sensitivity testing, scenario modeling, and risk-adjusted returns in infrastructure investments.

The course also explores risk management in project finance, including construction risk, operational risk, market risk, and political risk. Participants will learn how risks are allocated among stakeholders through contracts, guarantees, and insurance mechanisms.

Special attention is given to infrastructure financing instruments such as public-private partnerships (PPPs), blended finance, green infrastructure funding, and development finance institutions. Participants will gain insight into global best practices in structuring bankable projects.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design financially viable infrastructure projects, structure funding arrangements, and manage complex project finance transactions in both public and private sectors.
