Course Introduction

Pricing Analytics and Revenue Optimization Training Course provides a practical analytical framework for understanding how prices influence demand, revenue, margin, customer behavior, and overall business performance. The course combines pricing strategy, statistical analysis, demand modeling, elasticity analysis, forecasting, experimentation, customer segmentation, and optimization techniques to help participants make evidence-based pricing decisions. Participants learn how to move beyond cost-plus or intuition-based pricing toward analytical approaches that quantify demand response and evaluate alternative price scenarios.

The course begins with the foundations of pricing analytics and revenue management, including price structures, discounts, promotions, margins, contribution, willingness to pay, price sensitivity, demand curves, competitive positioning, and customer value. Participants learn how pricing objectives differ across revenue growth, profit maximization, market penetration, inventory utilization, customer acquisition, retention, and long-term value creation. The training emphasizes the importance of clearly defining the business objective before selecting a pricing model because a price that maximizes unit sales may not maximize revenue or contribution margin.

Participants develop practical skills for preparing transaction, product, customer, competitor, promotional, and market datasets for pricing analysis. The training covers historical prices, quantities sold, revenue, costs, discounts, promotions, product characteristics, customer segments, inventory levels, channels, dates, and external demand drivers. Participants learn to identify data-quality issues, control for seasonality, distinguish price changes from other demand drivers, and construct analytical datasets suitable for estimating price-demand relationships. Python statistical workflows can support this work; the current statsmodels library provides tools for statistical estimation, hypothesis testing, and data exploration.

A central component of the course is demand and price elasticity analysis. Participants learn how to estimate the relationship between price and demand, calculate own-price elasticity, investigate cross-price effects, evaluate promotional responses, and distinguish correlation from credible evidence of price impact. The training introduces regression-based demand models and practical approaches for controlling for product, customer, channel, time, seasonality, and other relevant variables. Participants also learn to interpret elasticity carefully because the estimated relationship may vary by customer segment, product category, geography, competitive environment, and market conditions.

The course then progresses into revenue optimization and analytical price-setting. Participants examine how predicted demand can be combined with price, variable cost, capacity, inventory, and other business constraints to evaluate alternative prices. Modern analytical pricing workflows can use predicted demand across multiple candidate prices and evaluate an explicit profit objective; Google's published price-optimization example illustrates this approach by forecasting demand at alternative price points and evaluating resulting profit under a defined objective function. Participants learn to build similar scenario-based frameworks using Python, statistical models, optimization concepts, and structured business assumptions.

By the end of Pricing Analytics and Revenue Optimization Training Course, participants will be able to prepare pricing datasets, analyze demand patterns, estimate price elasticity, evaluate promotions, build demand forecasts, model revenue and contribution, conduct pricing experiments, segment customers by price sensitivity, and evaluate alternative pricing strategies. The course concludes with an end-to-end pricing optimization project that connects historical data, demand modeling, scenario analysis, optimization, and executive reporting. Participants also examine pricing governance, experimentation ethics, data limitations, competitive considerations, model uncertainty, and the importance of monitoring pricing outcomes after implementation rather than assuming that historical relationships will remain unchanged.
