Introduction

Effective national development requires projects that are technically sound and strategically aligned with policy frameworks and long-term development agendas. The Policy-Linked Project Planning for National Development Strategies Course equips participants with the knowledge and analytical skills to design, implement, and manage projects that directly contribute to national and regional development priorities.

This course bridges the gap between policy formulation and project execution by integrating strategic planning, policy coherence, and evidence-based decision-making. Participants will explore how to translate national visions and strategies into actionable, measurable projects that drive social, economic, and environmental transformation.

Through a comprehensive approach, the course enhances understanding of policy frameworks such as national development plans, SDGs, and regional integration strategies, ensuring that project design and implementation are contextually relevant and impactful. Participants will also learn to assess the institutional, political, and economic dynamics that shape development projects.

Emphasis is placed on intersectoral coordination, participatory policy implementation, and adaptive management to ensure that projects remain flexible and responsive to evolving national priorities. Practical exercises, case studies, and simulations will deepen participants’ ability to align projects with government and donor policy frameworks.

Additionally, the course addresses emerging trends in policy-linked project management, including digital governance, sustainability integration, and results-based policy monitoring. Participants will gain exposure to tools for policy analysis, strategic alignment mapping, and performance tracking to enhance development outcomes.

By the end of the course, participants will possess the competencies to lead, design, and manage policy-driven projects that strengthen institutional coherence, optimize resource allocation, and deliver tangible national development results.
