Introduction

Peacebuilding and conflict resolution are critical for fostering stable, resilient, and inclusive societies. This course provides participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills to analyze conflicts, design interventions, and implement transitional justice programming effectively.

Participants will explore frameworks for conflict analysis, understanding the root causes, dynamics, and actors involved in disputes. Emphasis is placed on identifying structural, relational, and cultural drivers of conflict to inform evidence-based interventions.

The course highlights the importance of inclusive peacebuilding strategies that engage local communities, civil society, and government stakeholders. Participants will learn to design programs that promote dialogue, reconciliation, and social cohesion in post-conflict settings.

Transitional justice programming is essential for addressing legacies of human rights violations. Learners will gain expertise in truth-seeking, reparations, institutional reform, and legal mechanisms that foster accountability and reconciliation.

Monitoring, evaluation, and adaptive programming are central to ensuring effective peacebuilding interventions. The course equips participants with tools to assess impact, measure outcomes, and continuously improve peacebuilding and transitional justice initiatives.

Through interactive case studies, simulations, and scenario-based exercises, participants will develop actionable skills to lead peacebuilding programs, conduct conflict-sensitive planning, and implement sustainable transitional justice strategies in diverse contexts.
