Introduction

Peace and international relations are at the heart of global cooperation, diplomacy, and sustainable development. In a world characterized by geopolitical rivalries, security threats, and emerging global challenges, the ability to understand, analyze, and shape international relations is vital. This course provides participants with both the theoretical foundations and practical insights into peace-building, conflict management, diplomacy, and global governance.

The program examines how nations, institutions, and non-state actors interact in a globalized world. It emphasizes the interplay between peace, security, economics, culture, and international law. Participants will explore classical and contemporary theories of international relations, alongside real-world applications that demonstrate how global actors respond to conflicts, crises, and opportunities for cooperation.

Through simulations, case studies, and applied exercises, learners will develop skills in negotiation, mediation, and policy analysis. The course highlights the roles of international organizations, peacekeeping missions, and regional frameworks in promoting global stability, while also critically addressing their successes and limitations.

Ethical dimensions, human rights, and the role of civil society are woven throughout the program, ensuring participants appreciate the broader human impact of international relations decisions. Issues such as migration, climate change, terrorism, and global inequality are analyzed through the lens of peace and security.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to critically evaluate international relations strategies, contribute to conflict prevention, and design peace-oriented policies. They will be equipped to serve in diverse roles across diplomacy, policy-making, academia, international organizations, and advocacy networks.
