Course Introduction

Organic farming is a sustainable approach to agriculture that prioritizes ecological balance, biodiversity, and the production of safe, chemical-free food. This course equips participants with knowledge and practical skills to adopt organic farming practices while meeting international certification standards. Learners will understand how organic methods improve soil health, enhance crop quality, and promote environmental sustainability.

The training explores soil fertility management using organic amendments such as compost, green manure, and biofertilizers. Participants will learn how to maintain nutrient balance naturally, optimize plant growth, and reduce dependency on synthetic fertilizers and chemicals.

Integrated pest and disease management in organic systems is emphasized. The course provides strategies for biological control, cultural practices, and organic-approved inputs to prevent and mitigate pest and disease pressures effectively.

Water management, crop rotation, and diversified cropping systems are introduced as key practices for resilient organic farming. Participants will explore how these strategies enhance productivity, reduce risks, and support long-term farm sustainability.

Certification standards, auditing processes, and compliance requirements are integral components of this course. Learners will gain practical insights into organic certification procedures, record-keeping, labeling, and market access, enabling them to produce market-ready, certified organic products.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to implement holistic organic farming practices that ensure food safety, improve environmental stewardship, and meet global organic certification standards.
