Course Introduction
Non-Revenue Water (NRW) remains one of the most significant operational and financial challenges facing water utilities worldwide. NRW represents water that is produced and enters the distribution system but does not generate revenue due to physical losses, commercial losses, unauthorized consumption, metering inaccuracies, and billing inefficiencies. High levels of NRW undermine financial sustainability, reduce service quality, increase operational costs, and place additional pressure on scarce water resources. This course provides participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical tools required to identify, measure, control, and reduce non-revenue water through integrated management strategies and advanced leakage control techniques.
Water utilities are increasingly challenged by aging infrastructure, rapid urbanization, climate variability, population growth, and increasing customer expectations.
