Course Introduction
Strategic foresight and future readiness are becoming essential capabilities for NGOs operating in increasingly complex, uncertain, and rapidly changing global development environments. This course equips participants with tools to anticipate change and prepare effectively.
Organizations that rely solely on reactive planning often struggle to remain relevant and impactful. Strategic foresight enables NGOs to systematically explore future scenarios, identify emerging risks, and seize new opportunities before they fully materialize.
The course introduces practical methodologies for horizon scanning, scenario planning, and trend analysis, enabling organizations to move beyond short-term planning toward long-term strategic agility and resilience.
Participants will learn how to integrate foresight thinking into organizational strategy, program design, and decision-making systems to ensure sustainability and relevance in evolving development landscapes.
A strong focus is placed on translating foresight insights into actionable strategies that strengthen institutional adaptability, innovation capacity, and organizational resilience in uncertain environments.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to design and implement foresight systems that improve strategic decision-making and future preparedness within NGOs and development organizations.
