Course Introduction

Stakeholder intelligence is a critical capability for NGOs operating in complex development, governance, and humanitarian ecosystems. Understanding who influences decisions, how power is distributed, and where leverage points exist is essential for achieving sustainable impact.

This course provides a structured approach to stakeholder intelligence gathering, analysis, and application, enabling participants to map influence networks and identify strategic engagement pathways across sectors and institutions.

Participants will learn how to systematically analyze stakeholders beyond surface-level identification, focusing instead on interests, incentives, relationships, and behavioral patterns that shape decision-making environments.

In an increasingly interconnected world, influence is rarely linear. NGOs must understand informal networks, political dynamics, and institutional interdependencies to effectively position their interventions and advocacy efforts.

The training integrates analytical tools, mapping frameworks, and real-world case applications to help participants translate stakeholder insights into actionable influence strategies for development outcomes.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design stakeholder intelligence systems, conduct influence mapping exercises, and apply findings to strategic planning, advocacy, and program implementation.
