Course Introduction
Public policy analysis is a critical competency for NGOs seeking to influence systemic change and drive sustainable development reforms. Understanding how policies are formulated, implemented, and evaluated enables organizations to engage more effectively in governance processes.
This course provides a comprehensive foundation in public policy analysis, equipping NGO professionals with the analytical tools and frameworks needed to assess policy environments and identify strategic entry points for reform and advocacy.
Participants will explore how development policies impact communities and how NGOs can shape policy agendas through evidence-based advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication with decision-makers.
In many development contexts, weak policy design and implementation gaps hinder effective service delivery and equity outcomes. This course helps participants identify such gaps and design reform-oriented interventions grounded in rigorous analysis.
The training emphasizes the relationship between governance systems, political economy, and development outcomes, enabling participants to understand the broader systems shaping policy decisions and institutional behavior.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to conduct structured policy analysis, engage in reform processes, and design advocacy strategies that influence public policy at local, national, and international levels.
