Introduction

With digital health and telemedicine playing a transformative role in expanding access, efficiency, and quality of care. As investments in digital health technologies grow, the need for robust Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks becomes crucial to measure outcomes, ensure accountability, and guide data-driven decision-making. The Monitoring and Evaluation for Digital Health and Telemedicine Programs Training Course equips participants with the knowledge and tools to effectively design, implement, and manage M&E systems tailored to digital health environments.

This comprehensive course introduces participants to key digital health M&E concepts, frameworks, and tools that align with global standards such as WHO’s Digital Health Strategy and Health Data Governance Principles. Participants will gain practical skills to collect, analyze, and interpret health data from digital platforms, mobile applications, and telemedicine systems while ensuring accuracy, privacy, and interoperability.

The training explores how M&E can be used to assess both technical performance and health outcomes in telemedicine initiatives, digital health records, remote monitoring systems, and eHealth innovations. Through hands-on sessions and case studies, participants will learn how to design indicators, assess user engagement, measure digital health adoption, and evaluate cost-effectiveness in data-driven environments.

Additionally, the course emphasizes the integration of digital M&E systems into broader health information management structures, supporting real-time reporting and adaptive learning. Participants will learn to apply data visualization, dashboard analytics, and GIS mapping for effective health program tracking and reporting.

The program also covers challenges such as data interoperability, digital divide issues, and ethical concerns surrounding patient data security. By addressing these complexities, participants will develop strategies for building sustainable and ethical M&E systems for digital health and telemedicine interventions.

By the end of this five-day course, participants will be well-equipped to design and operationalize technology-enabled M&E frameworks that strengthen health outcomes, promote evidence-based decision-making, and drive digital health transformation in their organizations and communities.
