Introduction

The Mobile Data Collection using SurveyCTO, GIS Mapping, and Data Analysis using NVivo and SPSS Course is a comprehensive, hands-on training program designed to equip professionals with the practical skills required to conduct modern research and field data operations using cutting-edge digital tools.

This course introduces participants to SurveyCTO, a powerful platform for mobile-based data collection, emphasizing form design, data validation, offline deployment, and real-time monitoring. Participants will learn how to collect high-quality data using Android devices and sync it securely to centralized systems. The training also covers GIS mapping techniques, enabling learners to visualize spatial data, analyze geographic patterns, and produce interactive maps for reporting and analysis.

To ensure participants can generate actionable insights from both qualitative and quantitative datasets, the course includes training in NVivo, for qualitative data coding and thematic analysis, and SPSS, for statistical analysis and hypothesis testing. By the end of the course, participants will be able to integrate mobile data collection with geospatial analysis and mixed-methods data interpretation.

Whether you are a researcher, project manager, M&E specialist, or field officer, this course provides the essential toolkit to streamline data workflows and make informed, evidence-based decisions in complex environments.

Participants will engage in interactive exercises, real-world case studies, and guided practical sessions to reinforce their learning and build confidence in using these tools. The course is designed to cater to both beginners and intermediate users, ensuring a progressive learning experience. Emphasis is placed on data quality, ethical considerations in digital data collection, and ensuring data security throughout the research lifecycle. Upon completion, participants will not only have gained technical competence but also the strategic insight necessary to design and implement efficient, technology-driven data systems in their respective fields.
