Introduction

Migration and displacement are global challenges, affecting millions of people and reshaping development priorities worldwide. The complexity of managing migration and refugee support projects demands a deep understanding of humanitarian principles, international policy frameworks, and effective project management tools. This course equips participants with the skills to plan, implement, and evaluate migration and refugee support initiatives that are ethical, inclusive, and sustainable.

Participants will explore the full project cycle from needs assessment and design to implementation and evaluation, tailored specifically for migration and refugee contexts. The course integrates humanitarian response frameworks, protection mechanisms, and coordination strategies used by governments, NGOs, and international organizations to ensure effective service delivery and protection of vulnerable populations.

A strong emphasis is placed on understanding the legal and policy frameworks that govern migration, asylum, and refugee rights, including international conventions and national strategies. Participants will learn how to design programs that align with these frameworks while promoting human rights and social inclusion.

The course also focuses on cross-sectoral collaboration, emphasizing the integration of education, health, livelihood, and psychosocial support within refugee assistance projects. It highlights participatory approaches that engage displaced communities as partners in development, not merely beneficiaries.

Emerging issues such as climate-induced migration, urban displacement, digital registration systems, and data protection in humanitarian response are explored. Participants will also learn innovative practices in resource mobilization, donor engagement, and monitoring for adaptive program management.

By the end of the training, participants will be equipped to lead impactful migration and refugee support projects, foster inclusive policies, and enhance coordination between humanitarian and development actors to ensure sustainable solutions for displaced populations.
