Introduction
Mental health systems require strong leadership and coordinated structures to respond effectively to rising mental health needs worldwide. This training course provides an advanced foundation for strengthening leadership capacity and building resilient mental health systems across public, private, and humanitarian sectors.
The course addresses the growing demand for leaders who can design, govern, and manage integrated mental health systems that are equitable, accessible, and sustainable. Participants will explore how policy, financing, workforce development, and service delivery interact to shape system performance.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of mental health system components, including governance, service organization, information systems, and community engagement. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based leadership practices that drive system-level change and improve population mental health outcomes.
Recognizing the complexity of mental health systems, the course integrates strategic planning, change management, and stakeholder coordination approaches. Learners will develop skills to lead reforms, strengthen partnerships, and align mental health initiatives with broader health and social systems.
The training also focuses on data-driven decision-making, monitoring, and learning within mental health systems. Participants will learn how to use evidence to guide policy, allocate resources efficiently, and continuously improve service quality and coverage.
