Introduction
Workers in informal and gig economies face unique mental health challenges due to job insecurity, irregular income, high work demands, and limited social protections. This course explores these challenges and equips professionals to support mental wellbeing in these dynamic work environments.
Participants will examine common mental health issues affecting informal and gig economy workers, including stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, and social isolation. The course emphasizes understanding the structural and socio-economic factors driving these conditions.
The course highlights strategies for building resilience, coping mechanisms, and protective interventions. Participants will learn practical approaches to support mental health, including peer support networks, community engagement, and flexible wellbeing initiatives tailored to gig workers.
