Introduction
Maritime and admiralty law governs shipping, navigation, marine commerce, and international trade at sea. This course provides an in-depth understanding of maritime legal frameworks, covering shipping contracts, regulatory compliance, liability, and dispute resolution in both national and international contexts. Participants gain practical knowledge to manage legal risks in shipping and port operations effectively.

The program examines the legal obligations of shipowners, charterers, maritime insurers, and port authorities. Key topics include carriage of goods by sea, bills of lading, marine insurance, salvage, and environmental responsibilities, enabling participants to navigate complex maritime legal environments with confidence.

Participants explore international maritime conventions, treaties, and codes, including SOLAS, MARPOL, UNCLOS, and the Hague-Visby Rules. Emphasis is placed on compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards, as well as the application of international legal frameworks to domestic maritime practices.

The course addresses liability, claims, and risk management, including personal injury, cargo loss, pollution claims, and ship collisions. Participants will learn how to mitigate operational, financial, and legal exposure while ensuring adherence to national and international regulations governing maritime operations.

Emerging issues such as maritime cybersecurity, autonomous vessels, shipping finance, piracy, and cross-border maritime disputes are analyzed. Real-world case studies illustrate enforcement, arbitration, and successful compliance strategies, giving participants actionable insights for maritime legal practice and operational governance.

By integrating theory with practical application, this training equips maritime lawyers, port administrators, shipowners, insurers, regulators, and compliance officers with advanced skills to manage legal, operational, and regulatory challenges across global maritime sectors.
