Introduction

Gender equality is essential for inclusive, sustainable development. The Mainstreaming Gender in Policy, Planning, and Institutional Frameworks Training Course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to integrate gender perspectives into policies, planning processes, and institutional operations effectively.

The course explores how gender norms and systemic inequalities shape decision-making, resource allocation, and institutional effectiveness. Participants will learn to identify gaps and opportunities for promoting gender equality across sectors and governance structures.

Participants will gain competencies in policy analysis, planning, program design, and institutional strengthening to ensure gender-responsive outcomes. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based approaches, participatory processes, and strategic implementation of gender mainstreaming initiatives.

Emerging topics such as digital governance, gender-responsive budgeting, intersectional policy frameworks, and inclusive stakeholder engagement are incorporated. Participants will examine innovative strategies for embedding gender considerations into organizational and national development agendas.

The course also examines international and regional frameworks, including CEDAW, SDGs, African Union Gender Policies, and global best practices. Participants will learn to align institutional and policy frameworks with international commitments to gender equality.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to design, implement, and monitor gender-responsive policies and plans, strengthen institutional capacity, advocate for inclusion, and contribute to transformative change within organizations and governance systems.
