Course Introduction

Infrastructure Project Planning and Management is a specialized discipline focused on the successful design, development, execution, and control of large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, energy systems, water supply networks, and public facilities. This course provides a structured approach to managing complex infrastructure initiatives effectively.

Infrastructure projects are often capital-intensive, high-risk, and involve multiple stakeholders including government agencies, contractors, financiers, and communities. This course equips participants with advanced planning and management techniques to handle these complexities and ensure successful project delivery.

The course emphasizes the importance of feasibility studies, project appraisal, environmental considerations, and socio-economic impact analysis in infrastructure development. Participants will learn how to evaluate project viability before implementation to avoid costly failures.

Modern infrastructure project management requires strong integration of planning tools, scheduling systems, procurement strategies, and risk management frameworks. This course introduces globally recognized methodologies used to manage large-scale infrastructure investments.

Participants will also explore contract management, stakeholder coordination, and resource optimization techniques essential for ensuring infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

By the end of this course, learners will be fully equipped to manage infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring sustainability, efficiency, and long-term value creation for communities and institutions.
