Course Introduction

Inclusive Public Participation and Civic Engagement Training Course is designed to strengthen democratic governance by empowering institutions, civil society actors, and citizens to engage meaningfully in public decision-making processes at all levels.

Public participation is a cornerstone of accountable governance, yet many systems struggle with barriers that exclude marginalized voices. This course explores practical approaches for building inclusive civic spaces where all citizens can contribute to policy dialogue and development planning.

Participants will learn how to design and implement participatory governance frameworks that ensure transparency, accountability, and equitable representation in public institutions and community processes.

The course also examines tools and methods for strengthening citizen engagement, including participatory budgeting, public consultations, social accountability mechanisms, and digital civic engagement platforms.

Special focus is placed on inclusion of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups in governance processes, ensuring that civic engagement reflects diverse societal needs and perspectives.
