Course Introduction

Inclusive Community-Based Protection and Safeguarding Training Course is designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to build safe, protective, and inclusive community systems. It focuses on preventing harm, strengthening safeguarding mechanisms, and promoting dignity and wellbeing for all community members.

The course explores how protection systems function within community settings, especially for vulnerable populations such as children, women, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups. Participants will learn how exclusion, discrimination, and power imbalances increase protection risks.

A key focus is placed on participatory safeguarding approaches that empower communities to identify risks, report concerns, and take collective responsibility for protection outcomes. The course emphasizes shared accountability between institutions, leaders, and community members.

Participants will engage with international safeguarding standards, child protection frameworks, and survivor-centered approaches that prioritize safety, confidentiality, and respect. These frameworks are critical for effective protection programming.

The training also introduces practical tools for risk assessment, case management, referral systems, and safeguarding policy development. These tools help participants translate theory into actionable community-based protection systems.

Ultimately, the course builds capacity to design and implement inclusive safeguarding systems that reduce harm, strengthen resilience, and ensure safe, supportive, and empowered communities.
