Introduction

Humanitarian cash transfer programming (CTP) is increasingly recognized as an effective, flexible, and dignified approach to delivering aid in emergency and development contexts. This course equips participants with practical skills to design, implement, and manage cash-based interventions efficiently and ethically.

Participants will gain a deep understanding of the principles, standards, and guidelines for cash transfer programming, including considerations for protection, accountability, and inclusion. Emphasis is placed on context-specific approaches that respond to the needs of vulnerable populations.

The course highlights the integration of market-based approaches, including market assessments, value chain analysis, and financial inclusion strategies. Participants will learn to ensure that cash interventions strengthen local economies and support sustainable recovery.

Coordination and multi-stakeholder collaboration are essential for effective CTP. Participants will explore partnerships with local authorities, NGOs, UN agencies, and financial service providers to ensure timely, safe, and scalable interventions.

Monitoring, evaluation, and learning are central to maximizing impact and accountability. Participants will develop competencies in data collection, outcome measurement, impact assessment, and reporting, including the use of digital tools and dashboards.

Through case studies, simulations, and interactive exercises, participants will acquire practical skills to plan, implement, and scale cash transfer programs, integrate market-based approaches, and enhance organizational readiness for innovative humanitarian interventions.
