Course Introduction

Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) has become a critical component of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks, ensuring that organizations systematically identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for human rights impacts across their operations and value chains. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how HRDD integrates with ESG obligations in modern corporate governance.

As global regulatory expectations increase, businesses are now required to go beyond voluntary sustainability commitments and demonstrate structured due diligence processes. This includes compliance with international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and OECD guidelines, which form the backbone of responsible ESG implementation.

This training equips participants with practical tools and methodologies to design and implement human rights due diligence systems that align with ESG reporting frameworks. It emphasizes risk identification, stakeholder engagement, remediation mechanisms, and transparent disclosure practices.

Participants will also explore sector-specific human rights risks across industries such as extractives, agriculture, manufacturing, finance, and technology. The course highlights how ESG performance is increasingly linked to human rights accountability in global supply chains.

In addition, the program addresses emerging global pressures such as mandatory ESG disclosure laws, investor expectations, and consumer advocacy. These forces are reshaping how organizations manage human rights risks within their operational and strategic frameworks.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to integrate HRDD into ESG systems effectively, strengthening compliance, improving reputation, and ensuring ethical and sustainable business conduct across all organizational levels.
