Introduction

Health and social protection projects are critical components of inclusive development and human well-being. The Health and Social Protection Project Planning and Implementation Course equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to design, execute, and monitor impactful programs that promote equitable access to healthcare, social safety nets, and livelihood support.

This course provides an in-depth understanding of the intersection between health systems, social protection mechanisms, and development programming. Participants will explore how to strengthen community resilience, enhance service delivery, and ensure that vulnerable groups are effectively covered through innovative policy and program interventions.

Through interactive lectures, case studies, and simulations, participants will learn how to conduct needs assessments, develop project frameworks, and align health and social protection initiatives with global standards and donor expectations. The training also focuses on integrating gender, equity, and inclusion principles into all stages of the project cycle.

A major focus of the course is the application of evidence-based planning, financial management, and data-driven decision-making to ensure efficient project delivery. Participants will explore strategies for stakeholder coordination, multi-sectoral partnerships, and resource mobilization to strengthen program sustainability.

The course further delves into emerging issues such as universal health coverage (UHC), digital health transformation, social insurance innovations, and adaptive social protection systems that respond to shocks like pandemics and climate-related crises. These discussions prepare participants to manage dynamic challenges in evolving development landscapes.

By the end of the course, participants will have the confidence and expertise to plan, implement, and evaluate health and social protection projects that improve lives, reduce inequalities, and contribute to national and global development agendas.
