Course Introduction

Green investment policy has become a cornerstone of modern economic transformation, guiding governments and institutions toward low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive development pathways. This course provides a structured approach to designing and implementing effective green investment policies that align environmental sustainability with economic growth objectives.

The program explores how policy frameworks can be developed to mobilize public and private capital toward green infrastructure, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and climate-resilient development systems. It emphasizes the integration of environmental objectives into national investment strategies and development planning processes.

Participants will gain insight into global best practices in green fiscal policy, regulatory instruments, and institutional coordination mechanisms. The course also highlights how governments can create enabling environments that reduce investment risks and attract sustainable finance into priority sectors.

A strong focus is placed on policy coherence, ensuring that environmental, economic, and social policies work together to support long-term sustainability outcomes. This includes aligning national development plans with international climate commitments and sustainability standards.

The course further examines how innovative financial instruments such as green bonds, tax incentives, subsidies, and blended finance can be used to accelerate green investment flows. It also explores how to measure policy effectiveness and ensure accountability in implementation.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to design, implement, and evaluate green investment policies that drive sustainable development, enhance climate resilience, and support inclusive economic transformation at national and institutional levels.
